Dear Colleagues,

We are in the process of organizing the programme for the inaugural meeting of SINGAPORE ECONOMETRIC STUDY GROUP (SESG) at Singapore Management University in Singapore on Saturday, July 24, 2004. At present we are planning a one-day meeting.

We invite submissions of papers in econometrics, both theoretical and applied, as well as empirical analyses of economic and finance issues. There is a conference registration fee of S$40. Submissions are now welcome from anyone wishing to present a paper. Submissions should reach us the latest by June 15.

For anyone wishing to present a paper, we will need the following: An abstract of the paper, including the title of the paper, keywords and names and affiliations of the author(s), or a full manuscript; correspondence address, fax number and e-mail address of the author(s). The abstract or full manuscript should be sent by email to Jun YU, School of Economics and Social Sciences Singapore Management University, Email: yujun@smu.edu.sg.

In the end of the meeting, we will take the opportunity to discuss issues such as what time of the year would be the best for future meetings; how frequent we should meet; how long it should be; the range of the practitioners; why do we meet (learning new theory/application, presenting work in process, crying for help, disseminating information, etc)?
