Research Engineer Positions in Smart Contract and Blockchain System Analysis

Overall Information

--------

The research engineers will be part of our team in School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) for the Research Lab for Intelligent Software Engineering (RISE) to carry out cutting-edge research in software system reliability and security. A goal of this project is to test, analyze, and certify smart contracts and the underlying blockchain systems (e.g., contracts written in Solidity and executed in the Ethereum blockchain) to enhance their reliability and security.

 

Expected outputs for the positions are research papers and prototype tools for testing and analysis of smart contracts and the blockchain system. Each contract is often one year and renewable based on performance. The working language is English.

General Requirements

* Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Computer Science or closely relevant discipline.

* Self-motivated, hard-working, organized, and strong interests in research.

* Strong academic records, analytical and programming skills.

* Good spoken and written English; good communication and presentation skills.

* Prior research experience is a plus.

 

Skill Requirements

--------

* Fluent in C or C++ or Java or Python

* Knowledge of the Ethereum blockchain, Ethereum virtual machines, and Solidity smart contracts (or other blockchain systems)

* Knowledge of compiler techniques and testing & debugging techniques
