Dr. Wang Jiwei is Associate Professor of Accounting (Practice) at the Singapore Management University (SMU). He won the Best Newcomer Teaching Award in 2005 from SMU. He has numerous years of working and teaching experience in auditing, financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and equity valuation. Prior to joining SMU in July 2003, he worked at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. He has also been a financial analyst at an investment bank in Shanghai and an auditor at an auditing firm in Xi’an. He has conducted accounting seminars in Australia, China Mainland, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Ireland, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, and the U.S. He has served as a consultant to some international consulting firms, a Singapore auditing firm, and a Chinese telecommunication firm on Chinese accounting and finance issues.

Dr. Wang has been doing practical research on Chinese accounting standards, earnings management, related-party transactions, IPOs, and securities regulation. He published research papers in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and the International Journal of Accounting. He served on the editorial board to the Singapore Accountant (a publication of ICPAS) and is ad hoc reviewer for many academic journals. His research has been profiled in the Financial Times in London and the Straits Times in Singapore. He was interviewed to comment on Chinese accounting and finance issues by many media such as 938live Radio, Bloomberg, Channel 8, and the Straits Times. He also contributes to QFINANCE. Dr. Wang graduated with honors from Xi'an Jiaotong University in China with a Bachelor degree in economics (major in accounting) and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. He is also a member of the American Accounting Association.

王纪伟博士现任新加坡管理大学会计学副教授。他曾于2005年赢得新大“最佳新人”教学奖。王博士有多年审计，财务会计，财务报表分析和证券估价的工作和教学经验。在2003年加入新大之前，他曾在深圳证券交易所工作。他也曾在上海一家投资银行和西安一家会计师事务所工作过。他曾受邀前往澳大利亚，中国，香港，韩国，爱尔兰，荷兰，新加坡，瑞典，台湾和美国等国家和地区进行会计和财务方面的学术讲座。王博士还给多个国际咨询机构，会计师事务所，和中国的一家电信公司提供会计和金融方面的咨询工作。

王纪伟博士一直致力于中国会计和金融方面的研究。他对中国会计准则，盈余管理，关联交易，首次公开售股和证券法规等都有很深的研究造诣。他曾在国际顶尖杂志，比如《会计与公共政策》和《国际会计杂志》，发表文章。他也是新加坡会计师公会会刊《新加坡会计师》的编辑委员会委员。他同时担任多家国际学术刊物的匿名审稿人。王博士的研究成果曾被英国《金融时报》和新加坡《海峡时报》深入报道。他也曾接受多家国际媒体和电台采访，谈论中国相关会计和金融问题。

王纪伟博士拥有香港科技大学会计学博士学位和西安交通大学经济学学士学位。他目前是美国会计学会会员。
