I'm a faculty member of the School of Information Systems at Singapore Management University, Singapore. I received my PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia in the area of multimedia information retrieval and database access methods. I worked as a lecturer at Sydney and researcher at Glasgow for a few years, before moving to SMU.

My main research interests include information retrieval, multimedia systems, data mining, statistical machine learning and its applications. The research statement includes a summary of my recent research and a tentative future plan.
